i'm doing a presentation and i need some ideas on some topics.. topics has to do with problems on environment.

AP Environmental Science Word Problem? Please Help!!?
Some people have proposed that the earth could solve its population problem by shipping people off to space colonies, each containing about 10,000 people. Assuming that we could build such large-scale, self0sustaining space stations, how many people would have to be shipped off each day to provide living spaces for the 82 million people being added to the earth's population each year? Current space shuttles can handle about 6 to 8 passengers. If this capacity could be increased to 100 passengers per shuttle, how many shuttles would have to be launched per day to offset the 82 millions people being added each year? According to your calculations, determine whether this proposal is a logical solution to the earth's population problem

What would you think of a vegetarian/vegan who didn't care at all about the animals?
Suppose that this person adopted a vegetarian/vegan diet for reasons such as personal health or environmental impact, yet had absolutely no problems going on a hunting or fishing trip or wearing wool or leather clothes or using animal-tested products.
Would this person still be accepted in an active vegetarian/vegan community?

I also doubt that someone who adopted such a diet for environmental reasons would wear wool (if they did, they'd be very careful about their sources). Most ethical vegetarians and vegans, and even most hunters, would be horrified at someone hunting or fishing for fun and just killing an animal with no intention of using it, so someone who did that probably wouldn't fit in with many communities.
I suppose I wonder why they would want to join a vegetarian community, knowing that the vast majority of vegetarians will be discussing and working on issues that they would find irrelevant. It would sort of be like joining Chinese club just because you like Chinese food. For many people, vegetarianism encompasses much more than simply a dietary choice, just like an interest in a certain culture generally extends beyond their food.
I'm sure they'd be welcome at vegetarian cooking groups and potlucks. I have a pescetarian friend who is active in an online vegetarian cooking community. She obviously wouldn't be hanging out in a community that emphasized activism and education regarding the treatment of seafood animals.
So I guess I would say that it depended on the community in general. If it is focused on the dietary/health aspect of the lifestyle, then I'd say that it would be a good match for them. If it is about the environment, then again, it probably would work well (again, it would depend on their specific habits). I am a libertarian so I am going to stick to libertarian principals. I believe that everyone should do their part to help make the environment a better place. I believe that we should recycle, throw garbage in its appropriate place, drive as little as possible, etc. I do believe that what you are saying is that by conservatives being against a "Cap and Trade" bill that they are saying that they do not need to be responsible for their environmental actions. "Cap and Trade" includes a tax on all levels of manufacturing in which the taxes stolen from private business will go to the government to utilize for "green business" rebuilding infrastructure. That sounds like cronyism to me. Many skeptics to your party's beautiful "Cap and Trade" bill is that due to the ever so increasing operating costs of business, companies will continue to ship their labor to other countries who do not comply with out "Cap and Trade" bill and pollute over seas.

You know since the late sixties the environmental drum has been beating and so far all i see is the loss of jobs and industry in this country .. You can't breathe the air in China and they dump billions of tons of pollution into the atmosphere that eventually gets dumped on our heads but we still buy the junk they sell here .. Mexico is one nasty country with pollution running rampart and Americans are expected to pay the price for it .. Personally i am tired of it and want it to end .. Are we contributing to the amount of carbon in the air? Yes However there are natural earth cycles we have no part of and cannot stop. So one would be correct saying we are contributing to the amount of carbon in the air. Non of the solutions being presented are designed to fix or reverse what has been done. They are setup to profit off what we are currently doing and have complete control over everyone. Taxed for living.
We could use man made carbon extractors and lower the amount of carbon rather quickly but do you hear of anyone suggesting that? Natural carbon extractors (trees) such as the Northern forests are dying because of a bark beetle. Are we doing anything about that? NO. So copenhagen. Cap %26amp; Trade is about making money off this. These emails being brought to light has put a dark cloud over the honesty of this entire global warming issue and then throw in most people are having record low temperatures..the global warming people have a really bad publicity problem to deal with.
