the democrats need to raise taxes because the re-thugs have already run up such a huge credit in their stolen elections rigged with rampant fraud that if they don't, business and social services would collapse. Let's not make Republicans out to be heroes. You may have a point with taxation but that's because Democrats have morphed into Socialists but what have the republicans become? They're no better. The illegal immigration issue is proof. The overwhelming majority of Americans oppose border policy but neither party is willing to represent us.
According the CBO, Cap and Trade legislation will actually CUT costs the average American family by anywhere between $40 and $245 per month.



According to the CBO, current healthcare reform legislation on the table will cut the deficit by over $100 billion, while covering between 94% and 96% of the populace. The Republican plan, again according to the CBO, will cover 83% of people (3% less than what is currently covered), cost approximately $120 billion MORE than the most expensive Democrat plan on deck, and will ADD to the defict.

I suppose you could argue that welfare would cost more in taxes. But the Iraq War wound up costing us $3 trillion over 6 years, and welfare has come nowhere close to that. I'd be far happier being taxed to help poor American families than being taxed even more to kill innocent Iraqi families.



What do you mean by consumption?



Class warfare? You mean how Clinton suggested a 1% increase in taxes on the top 1% to give the Middle and Lower classes tax cuts; and that was followed by 10 years of unprecedented economic growth?



Or how Bush gave huge tax cuts to that same top 1% and the economy hit recession, not once, but twice. And that second time, it got so bad the recession was called the precursor to the Second Great Depression and later as the Great Recession?



Capitalism? You mean how Republicans back large corporations as they squeeze tons of labor and production out of their workers and pay them jack for it? Or how Democrats work to make sure that large corporations treat their employees fairly; and every time they have done so, how the deficits go DOWN when they had gone up under Republicans?



Energy? Again, already covered. Cap and Trade saves the average American family hundreds per year.



Abortion? Actually, Republicans are the more dangerous ones here. Republicans want to overturn Roe v. Wade, but Roe v. Wade didn't have that much to do with abortion. It never answered the central question of abortion legality, which is "is the fetus a living human baby or simply a clump of cells?"



Now I believe it is a living human baby, but Roe v. Wade had nothing to do with that. No court case or legislation has dealt with that question. What Roe v. Wade said was that a woman controls her own body, the government does not control her body.



If Republicans overturn Roe v. Wade, it still wouldn't define a fetus as a living human baby and so would not make abortion illegal. What it would do is say the government controls women's bodies. In fact, with fetuses still not legally defined as human but the government in control of women's bodies and therefore in control of their medical decisions, the government could legally FORCE a woman to have an abortion.



Because while the Republicans took the choice away from a woman who would have chosen abortion, they had to do it by taking the choice away from women who would have chosen life. In essence, if Republicans got what they wanted, they would be guaranteeing that abortions occur; even for women who would not normally have chosen one.



Liberals aren't fixing the problem through higher taxation, but through preventing well-meaning but stupid Republicans from screwing themselves (and more importantly women) over.









So to answer your question, your question is flawed. It is Republicans who spend way, WAY too much, and expand government control. Democrats stand in their way, and you call them unpatriotic for doing so.Is it coincidental that all problems liberals have with america are fixed thru higher taxation?
Not coincidental - it is all part of the "progressive agenda" and it is not just liberals - some republicans have been guilty of big spending as well. The less money a person has - the less powerful they are -the more desperate they become.



It needs to stop!



If your representative promises to lower taxes and votes for bills that raise them - VOTE THEM OUT!

If you senator promises to minimize government intervention and votes for bills that increase them - Vote them out!
