Problems solved!I have an idea! How about allowing the libral states join Canada and the coservative provences join the US?!?There is none of either, only marginal differences, and much of that due to gerrymandering, or in many cases Election Fraud and/or intimidation.
Not just in Ohio where a district with 500 registered voters can turn in 300 votes for Kerry and 1500 votes for Bush.
Or Volusia County, Florida where the Negative people added a negative 15,000 votes against Gore in another district of 500 voters and set off the entire nightmare.
But places like New Mexico where entire Indian Tribes traveled miles across the desert and stood in line to use the machines and not register a vote.
Or other states where the majority of men voted for Kerry and an even larger majority of women voted for Kerry but the majority of votes were for Bush.
Or the thousands of Black Military people in Iraq who had their votes challenged and thrown out because they did not get the junk mail at their house (because they were in Iraq).
But even ignoring the fraud etcetera, this is not the divided America of 1860 when there were substantial Majorities on one side or the other (and even that perhaps less than imagined) but every State is not Red or Blue but variable shades of Purple, with plenty folk like Mikey "savage" Weiner in San Francisco, and many Liberals in places like Salt Lake City.
And what of the vast majority of Americans who take the Conservative side on some issues, the Liberal side on others, and a third idea about still others?
When India became independent, Muslim leaders insisted on having their own state. Look how well that worked out.I have an idea! How about allowing the libral states join Canada and the coservative provences join the US?!?
Interesting...I have an idea! How about allowing the libral states join Canada and the coservative provences join the US?!?Its good to have debate and different points of view in a country.I have an idea! How about allowing the libral states join Canada and the coservative provences join the US?!?
That wouldn't solve any problems. That would only create different problems.I have an idea! How about allowing the libral states join Canada and the coservative provences join the US?!?and what if a conservative province becomes liberal and a liberal state becomes conservative? do we just switch back? or is it a one time deal?
these kind of issues need to be addressed before writing your local congressman.
you know. to convince him.
But, if that happened, what would you use to make your snide remarks? And, are you saying that the issues you listed are only liberal issues...or just that we don't agree with your view? It baffles me why conservatives carry around so much hate. You even take a swipe at Canada! How do they manage to irritate you?I have an idea! How about allowing the libral states join Canada and the coservative provences join the US?!?
Anything to get rid of the 8th plague of Egypt, you know George W.
That may work, the citizens of San Francisco Probably Know the words to the Canadian National anthem better than they know the US National anthemI have an idea! How about allowing the libral states join Canada and the coservative provences join the US?!?
There is no such thing as "liberal states" and "conservative states". Look at the voting histories. As many as 40-49% of the citizens in the so called conservative states vote Democratic. Anyway, dividing the US was tried in 1861, and it didn't work.
Looking at your list though, it would be interesting if the conservatives had their way in one region of the US. The red states would have legalized discrimination against gays, no health care for the working poor and the lower middle class, frequent executions, back alley abortions, additional wars, more kids held back in school because they panic over multiple choice tests, and rampant air and water pollution. Red state country would be a great place to live and raise children.
I think Canadians would welcome some of the Blue States to the country. New York and California for sure.
The most conservative provinces would still be considered ultra liberal in the US. I can't see any of them wanting to be American.
For what we have spent on Iraq, we could have probably bought Canada.
