Now, it is quite easy to make a person understand the value of respecting natural environment. So that prehistoric style of worship is not necessary. In fact, deep understanding of value of environment should yield better results than that 'worship'!
Children in kindergarten, LKG, Ukg are required to be 'taught' by the very same teacher to wish her 'good-morning-teeecher' in a chorus. But after reaching middle school, even the teacher brushes aside that murmur of good morning as a casual ritual, and hurries with that much bigger responsibility of imparting knowledge, and 'expects ' students to pay full attention "in their own interest". After that student touches peak of success, when he meets that teacher, the teacher struggles to remember that students name, but 'worship' flows out of the student by itself, even in body language, out of gratitude!
As a society, we have to decide, whether we like to pretend as if we are still in kindergarten, or we like to recognise that this university (nature, mother nature) nurtures us, and we have to become Research scholars?Would nature worship be a good option for modern society?
People need to understand and recognise the delicate relationship we share with the planet we inhabit. That would be done by means of education from youth to learn how to minimise the damage.
We need to preserve nature for its sake and ultimately, for our own sake, not worship it as though we are not getting enough problems from orthodox theism.Would nature worship be a good option for modern society? It hasn't gone away, Avatar advocates nature worship as well.
Kind of a 5000 year step backwards though, to worship the creation instead of its creator. Nature isn't a god and doesn't care for our worship. Besides it won't solve any problems, any more then it did for the pagans. People are still effected by the good and evil in their hearts, murder, theft, jealously, lust, greed. You just get to add fun stuff like "my twig god says you must die..."Would nature worship be a good option for modern society?
Cybernetics and more recent such as Lee Smolin's "baby universes" suggest that inanimate things like stars and super-systems like our universe may be living evolved organisms like ourselves.
Our sun Sol supposedly has an IQ at least on a par with Albert Einstein or Edward Witten. Larger systems such as our universe likely have an IQ of godlike proportions.
Even if we choose not to worship such being we should at least treat them with respect.Would nature worship be a good option for modern society?Only if people were more willing enough, to open up their minds, heart and soul to Nature, so they can fully embrace her/it. Unfortunately that is not so, especially with the humans who are destroying the Rainforests and BP's infamous oil catastrophe for some notorious examples.
We need to love the nature as we love ourselves and our family. It is God's gift to us.
As we can't let someone we love, bear the pain then how can we let nature get hurt. After all, we all are alive today together due to this nature.Would nature worship be a good option for modern society?
Not likely, in all honesty, you'd probably be trolled. In this society, it's Christian or die.
Trust me on that last part, I know the worst of it.
omg NO ONE CAN make anyone worship anything.
There is already a group called wicken and they worship nature.
Worship is really a word that isn't something to even consider putting on people without their personal consent.Would nature worship be a good option for modern society?
Yes let us all pray the god of global warming and its scandalous daughter al gore.
But to answer your question, no
I Revere Nature as a Druid
I dont think we should worship anything or anyone.
But we had for sure better take care of what we have.
