US can not drill in or around America, even though we could %26amp; would do it more earth friendly than anyone else.



Less wars/police actions, as most are a direct result of foreign oil dependancy.



Lower food prices, as they continue to rise due to the "need" for ethenol.



A better economy, for we would not have the financial burden of fighting a "war over oil".



Less pollution: recycling costs lots of money; separating trash from plastics %26amp; glass uses 200% more plastic garbage bags; 200% more trash vehicles, which put 200% more pollutants into the air, not to mention all of the pollution caused by recycling plants burning plastics %26amp; glass for new uses.



Less mercury in the waters as fluorescent light bulbs are toxic.



Lower fuel costs If we would use nuclear power (like France does).Are environmental alarmists to blame for many of Americas problems???????Yes they are,they are the reason we ha vent built a single new refinery since the 70's.The same reason the Oil wells that were capped in the 70's have never been re-opened(because the oil companies had over produced at that time).

They also cry out for alternative energies,but the minute you mention Nuclear energy,they cringe and run away.There is no pleasing them,even surrendering your incandescent light bulb is not enough(maybe they really know it wont amount to much anyway)Or,maybe they want to see how many people are duped into doing it,giving them an idea on how much control they have(like a secret poll).They cry about new oil exploration yet they let China and Venezuela,drill in the Gulf of Mexico,but we cant(and our environment standards are stricter)It seems they want the world to bend to its knees starting with the US(they dont realize that after the US,if it should bend,will no longer have a leading role in the say of the world if this happens and the other countries will applaude us as they tell us to get bent!Are environmental alarmists to blame for many of Americas problems???????

YES,YES,YES, I worked for Soil Conservation for 15yr and seen the many problem that come with the so called save the world. These people who have not ever got dirt on their hands and have never did hard worked or have owned land and then have the government tell you what you can do or not while the taxes are going up.

I agree with you. If we could just do things in America rather than overseas a lot of problems would be solved. Sure it wouldn't be too environmentally friendly...but sometimes you gotta make sacrifices to solve larger things. America will soon fall if we dont do something about the economy.
