I've tried for over 2hours without any success. I have to research about chlorine OR bleach and answer these questions.
Identify chemical reactions upon which the industry relies.
Determine the role that each reaction plays in the industry.
How are the products of the reaction used by the industry?
What benefits does the process bring to the industry or to the larger society?
Obtain industry statistics regarding the annual consumption or production of the reaction species.
Has the industry made any recent advances that have chemical foundations?
Are there environmental concerns that arise as a result of the chemical processes?
Detail the nature of any environmental problems associated with the chemical processes.
What solutions and precautions are in place to prevent environmental
i got up to the third one in 2 hours... i just couldnt find the info anywhere...
if u have any answrs for any of them please help me out and post them...I have this chemistry assignment and Im having a lot of TROUBLE please help?Look for Sodium Hypochlorite in industry, that's bleach. Also look for NaOCl.
It's a misnomer to refer to bleach as chlorine throughout the world.
NaOCl must be made in high grade stainless steel containers because the reactants are corrosive to steel, and other metals.
NaOCl is a very important disenfectant for the consumer that is cheap and very attainable at all supermarkets. It kills all types of bacteria and every restaurant must use it for cleaning their meat processing areas. Slaughter houses and butcher shops also must use it for the same purpose. Chicken, beef, pork, and any other industry where meat goes from living animal to packaged meat must use NaOCl.
For Industry statistics goto Clorox.com they are huge in the NaOCl process. They should have that data on their corporate site, look for millions of tons or pounds.
Recent advances? look to see if they found cheaper and faster ways of making it.
Environmental concerns? Noxious chemicals all the way thru
