I need a problem dealing with environmental issues one for sustainable energy?

There are many problems with sustainable energy, depending on which you like to talk about.

Solar cells have the problem that the sun isn't always up.

Wind farms have the problem that even in the best geographical areas, you only have a 30% usage due to availability of wind. People also don't like the ruining of the landscapes asthetics.

There's all electric vehicles, but there's no infrastructure to charge your car while at work, therefore with the limited charge, therefore limited range, no infrastructure and high power requirements of an AC system for instance......you only have a limited marketability.

Bio-diesel is good, but there again, no infrastructure, unless you count running into a Ralphs or Vons for vegetable oil a good plan. I prefer the new bio-reactors that make bio diesel from algea. It won't effect the commodities market like corn ethanol did and can be formulated for many different varieties of vehicles...but lack of processing plants and infrastructure make it impractical at the moment.

Nuclear power is dependable, but you need people trained to deal with the operations and emergencies. Although they can provide alot of power for decades, eventually there will be radioactive waste which we generally deal with by paying entities, companies or organizations to store the radioactive items. It also takes time to get approval to build a new plant and to actually build it as well.

Wave generator technology to my knowledge is still just in the experimental stages. nothing practical is being used.

Hydro-electric is good, it can provide many with electrical power but as in all systems of power generation, you will need trained people and time to build the plant.

Geo-thermal is good, its been utilized effectively in many places, but you need access to the earths heat so your dependant upon geography for this source.
