Our teacher has assigned us a project and we can choose any environment related topic. The odds are: 1. Pollution is a very old and very common topic so I don't want to opt for this one. 2. The teacher already suggested drainage problems, so the lazy bones will take this. 3. I wanted to do on slums but mom doesn't want me visiting slums on my own. 4. Whichever topic we chose, we have to write on it in a particular place. We have to visit that place, collect information, and write about 15-20 pages on it. Can anyone suggest me a lively topic which will satisfy me and will be fun to do? I want it to be better than the slums topic and should also be agreeable with my mom.Which is the best topic for environmental studies project? In the US-
Urban sprawl is the number one environmental problem and usually receives very little attention because tv reporters almost all live in exurban mcmansions. Slums in the US actullay have much less long term environmental impact. I would compare the two in terms of resource use, energy, transportation (commuting alone), percapita household chemical use, land use efficiency, etc. Suburbanization is the most insidious environmental problem facing the US and other countries. Once land is developed from wild land, wetland, farm land, it is never returned.
I would conduct peer surveys to uncover the attitudes of even self-professed environmentalists about cars, housing, etc. to show how the problem is one of identificationWhich is the best topic for environmental studies project?
Global warming. You could talk about what it's caused by, the idiots who are denying it, the effects its having on the world (UV increases cancer, melting ice caps, warmer temps etc.) Then you could talk about what is being done to help stop global warming....goodluckWhich is the best topic for environmental studies project? As a parent of three, all in high school or college, I understand what you are looking for. Here it goes!
1. I would explore global climate change from the perspective of increasing temperature and the effects on bacteria, molds, germs, and viruses. Global warming is NOT a direct death threat. We easily can protect against rising temperatures and ocean levels. I believe (as do many others) that new rounds of plagues, diseases, and biological organism mutations will cause the real threats, including the most potential damage to human life. (Show how warm and moist conditions in your area really increase the growth rate and spread of germs, bacteria, and even insects! (the real "bugs")
2.The dangerous path that we are on in using foodstocks/feedstocks to produce bio-fuels or agri-fuels. You should explore the potential problems of using food that we eat directly or depend on when that resource is used to make transportation fuels. It is a major battle between FOOD versus FUEL. If there was a bad climatic event that reduced crops in certain parts of the world (even in the USA), the amount of land and food available would be insufficient.
What is mankind's greater priority? Having gas for the SUV to go to the movies? or To make sure all the worlds people eat (at least one meal a day)?Which is the best topic for environmental studies project?
why dont you work on changes and evolution of species where you live?
if you have a library where you can get pictures and newspapers and maybe books, you can show others how wild life was many years ago where you all live nowWhich is the best topic for environmental studies project?Invasive species, either plant or animal. You can see the affects these species have on changing the environment and pushing out native species.
