Why is copper oxide and sulphur dioxide bad for the environment?

What I mean is why there would be an environmental problem if CuO and SO2 gases were released into the atmosphere??

Thanks! xWhy is copper oxide and sulphur dioxide bad for the environment?CuO is a high melting point solid, so not much of a risk of it being released into the atmosphere.

SO2 reacts with water vapour in the atmosphere to form sulphuric acid, which falls as acid rain. That causes the soil/waterways to become acidified and can strip the foliage from plants in extreme cases.

Low sulphur fuels are produce less SO2 on combustion. Why is copper oxide and sulphur dioxide bad for the environment?CuO nanoparticles is present in photovoltaic cells, gas sensors etc..this might pose as a risk to natural water bodies..if disposed in them..(not if released in atmosphere....)
and SO2 gas reacts with rain water to produce sulphuric acid.
SO2 + H2O + O2 = H2SO4
and of course this is harmful, when it rains...it can have adverse effects on the marine life (by making water bodies acidic) and plant life, cause destruction of marble monuments as H2SO4 reacts with CaCO3..etc..
