Ok the government makes us aware that there are environmental problems that need to be resolved. Individuals and organizations help, but why is the government not doing anything?? Or mabey they are but they don't announce it. Bottom Line: This issue needs to be resolved, so why isn't the government doing anything?Environmental Issues??The government has created the Environment Protection Agency whose 18,000 staff members are working on many programs to protect the environment (air, water, and land). Some things it's done include banning harmful pesticides like DDT. Under authority of The Clean Air Act, the EPA regulates pollution. Just this year the Supreme Court ruled that regulating greenhouse gases from automobile emissions is under EPA's oversight. This vast agency has offices to deal with:
1) Air and Radiation
2) Enforcement and Compliance
3) Environmental Information
4) Prevention, Pesticides, and Toxic Substances
5) Solid Waste and Emergence Response
And much more...
