The IC engine forums want to discuss only IC power. The steam forums think steam is perfect. The electric vehicle forums think EV's are perfect. I know that each type has drawbacks that make it imperfect, but they don't want to listen.



IC is inherently polluting due to incomplete combustion and dependent on oil based fuels. Steam takes at least 30 seconds to get to operating pressure, you can't "gun it" and it can freeze. EV's have short ranges and long recharge times unless you spend a lot of money.



I have posted to the hybrid section of "the Future of Humanity" forum and have not had my idea bashed. I propose taking an inexpensive EV and installing a steam-engine powered generator, which cures all the drawbacks of both steam and electric power.
